SSC CGL 2026 Photo and Signature Guidelines
The Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (SSC CGL) examination is one of the most competitive government exams in India, conducted annually to recruit candidates for Group B and Group C posts across central government ministries and departments. For the 2026 application cycle, SSC has updated its photo and signature upload requirements.
Photo Upload Requirements
Your SSC CGL photograph must be a recent passport-sized image with dimensions of exactly 275 x 354 pixels. The file size must fall between 20KB and 50KB in JPG format only. The photo should have a white or light-colored background with your face clearly visible. Spectacles are not permitted in the photograph.
Signature Upload Requirements
Your signature for SSC CGL must be 236 x 79 pixels with a file size between 10KB and 20KB in JPG format. Sign using a black ink pen on plain white paper. The signature must be in cursive handwriting and should not be written in capital letters. Ensure the signature is clear, without smudges or overlapping lines.
Live Webcam Photo Capture (New in 2026)
Starting from 2026, SSC CGL has introduced mandatory live webcam photo capture during the online application process. This means you will need to capture your photo through your webcam while filling the application form. However, having a pre-prepared and properly sized photo is still recommended for practice and as a backup for re-uploads.
